Having gained a 2:1(hons) degree in Law I decided to do a postgraduate in Training and Development.  Whilst studying for my Post grad I also taught A level Law, Criminal law on the LLB Hons Degree and Contract Law on CIMA and CIPS (professional bodies Accountancy and Industry).

I fell in love with teaching almost instantaneously and decided to do a PGCE (further education courses were cheaper to attend back then!!)  After my PGCE I knew that teaching was my first love, that and keeping fit, (oh and an obsession with ER and Friends!) and  I was lucky enough to secure employment with WYP as a Lead Crime Trainer.  I developed and delivered numerous crime courses and became involved with delivering specialist interviewing courses of witnesses and victims.  I was also the force lead on Homicide.  I really enjoyed the Law but it was the teaching that gave me the biggest reward.

During my time at WYP I was in the gym every lunchtime and began to recognise the benefits of rehab exercises to keep me injury free (I was a keen runner).  I had been attending Pilates for a while when I wondered if I could marry my love of sport and teaching together and make a new career.  Lots of people thought I was crazy but my wonderful Dad said “Go for it – u will be great”.  I am a mum to 3 boys who were  10, 7 and 3 at the time and I thought “ what do I want for them” and the answer was “ do something you love, do not be afraid, if you do not try you will never know” – the rest they say is history.
